The stump-retained pasture is difficult to access with conventional equipment. To test a lower-cost application method, we converted a blower for seed distribution and used the side-by-side to travel through the rough pasture.
This was not a direct smooth-versus-stump treatment comparison because the application method differed. It will also contribute to a separate evaluation of application methods, labor, and equipment requirements.

Observations
The blower worked well as a seed spreader, however it was difficult to see the seed distribution. Placing your hand into the flow you could "feel" the seeds being ejected and judge the rate of seeding a bit.
This particular design created a slight back pressure because the blower ejection tube was narrower at the output than at the input of the tube. Visual inspection suggested that the distribution was relatively even with consistent sweeping motion and walking. Would likely try a cordless solution or gas powered solution in the future.
Actions Taken
Spread seed on foot with 100' extension cord around lake. Used the side by side to blow the seed into the stump pasture areas as best we could weaving through the area.
