Stay on an Innovation Farm

Most cabin rentals put you near nature. This one puts you in nature, on a farm in progress — 97 acres of pine and hardwood land being converted, one tested idea at a time, into pasture, livestock ground, and productive use. You're not staying next to a curated view. You're staying inside an actual experiment in how small farms can work differently.

That means the land around your cottage changes as we do. Property that was pine forest last year is open pasture this now. A trail might pass a microclimate test bed or a stretch of ground we just cleared. Nothing here is staged for guests — it's simply what the farm is doing, and you get to walk through it.

Your private cottage looks out over a fern-covered forest valley through a 16-foot panoramic door, with an outdoor hot tub, firepit, and grill built for slowing down after a day exploring.

What You'll See

Private walking and cart trails cross open pasture, wooded valley, and forest edge — a golf cart is available if you'd rather cover more ground. Wildlife moves through daily: deer, turkey, hawks, and an active beaver habitat, often visible right from the porch. Specific spots across the property are marked for the best photography, from fern-covered valley views to the wider working landscape and the reality of turning a forest into a farm.

Currently in the Field

Curious what we're actually testing? Every experiment on the farm — what worked, what didn't, and what we're trying next — is documented on our [Experiments] page. You can plan your visit around whatever's currently in progress and include some learning time into your adventure here.

We can provide a visit guide that explains what there is to see and how it fits in our plans to build this innovation farm.
