Why Are We Doing This?
Why We Bought the Property
Like many people, we dreamed for years of living on a piece of land like this. Between raising a family, building careers, and the realities of life, that dream always seemed to be somewhere in the future. In 2025, we finally had the opportunity to make it happen and purchased these 97 acres in east-central Alabama. We bought the property because we loved it and wanted to build a life here—not because we planned to create an innovation farm. Everything that followed grew naturally from our desire to make the most of that opportunity

Why We Started Doing Experiments
After buying the property, we quickly discovered that almost every decision came with conflicting advice. Should we remove every stump? Should we use goats or machines? Should we buy equipment or hire it done? There were plenty of opinions, but surprisingly few complete answers. Rather than simply choosing a side, we decided to test ideas ourselves and openly share what we learned.

What you Won't Find
You won't find us claiming to have all the answers.
You won't find complicated explanations requiring a degree in chemistry.
You won't find every experiment ending in success.
You won't find us recommending something simply because it's popular.
Instead, you'll find practical people trying to make better decisions one project at a time.
We'd Love Your Ideas
If you're trying something interesting on your own property, let us know. Many of our best experiment ideas come from conversations with other landowners.
