We looked at portable buildings, like you see in the Home Depot parking lot, or the metal buildings that are ready to assemble, or a shipping container that suddenly seem to be everywhere. We decided to purchase a one-trip 40' High Cube with traditional double doors on one end and a heavy locking "man door" on the other. We resisted the temptation to buy one already customized, and we could not get comfortable buying sight unseen from many online sellers. WARNING: There are many sellers that use this demand to create a financial trap. Send me your money and we will ship you the container. Some are just crooks that have no intention of providing a trailer. If the price seems too good, BEWARE! We decided to buy locally and do the work ourselves. We will of course capture all of the details and the mistakes and share them with you as quickly as we can.
Observations
Lots of choices. Finding a local seller that has a good reputation is the path we took. It was as easy as buying a load of pine straw.
Actions Taken
Met a seller on his lot where he had many containers to choose from.
Next Step
Get a site prepared, graded with rock base and build road to the location.
