We have had good weather for the cowpeas which have established well. The Bahia is just beginning to germinate and we should be able to evaluate coverage next week. These are critical improvements to begin to establish roots in the soil and beneficial bio-mass to begin to restore pasture health and improve moisture retention.
Observations
Lush healthy cowpeas at 2-3 feet in height and beginning to cover the pasture to reduce direct sunlight on the ground and reduce ground temperatures and provide habitat for beneficial animals.
Actions Taken
Photo survey from side by side.
Next Step
Detailed analysis of sample areas. Re-take soil samples for testing from test locations and create plan for late summer actions.
